Since childhood I have had an interest and appreciation of
literature, music and art. Imagination opens the mind to realms
beyond the five senses and carries us beyond the here and now, guiding us through
limitless possibilities.
As a young adult I had written and published a children's book and produced two
CD's of classical music. Sketching, oils and acrylics were dabbled with, without the
desired results, and I had pretty much given up on painting as another outlet for
creativity.
In 2006 I was offered private lessons in which I was taught the basics and technics
of watercolor. This, needless to say, opened another door of expression that has
become an important part of my life.
I was taught that artists are shape makers, that they use canvas to create their
own worlds, realities, and dreams. The only limitations are those in the mind of the
artist.
Although I have turned out some stinkers in the past two years, I continue to learn
and grow with each painting created. The flow of the paint, the blending of colors,
and a variety of subject matter have brought about some very good results.
